The basics
What is Gates of Olympus Super Scatter?
It's a high-volatility online slot from Pragmatic Play, released on 28 April 2025, set on Mount Olympus with Zeus. It plays on a 6×5 grid using a scatter-pays system. You win when 8 or more matching symbols land anywhere, with no paylines. On top of that sit tumbling reels, 2×–500× multiplier orbs, a free spins round, and the headline new feature: the Super Scatter symbol, which can pay fixed instant prizes up to 50,000× your bet.
Who developed Gates of Olympus Super Scatter?
Pragmatic Play, one of the largest online slot studios. It's a special edition in the Gates of Olympus series, which began with the original in 2021 and includes Gates of Olympus 1000.
When was it released?
28 April 2025.
What is the theme?
Greek mythology, centred on Zeus, king of the gods, ruling from Mount Olympus. The symbols are golden treasures and coloured gemstones, and the visuals and music are very close to the original Gates of Olympus.
How is it different from the original Gates of Olympus?
The core engine is the same: 6×5 scatter pays, tumbling reels, 2×–500× multipliers and free spins. The big change is the Super Scatter symbol, which adds fixed instant prizes and pushes the maximum win from the original's 5,000× all the way to 50,000×, a tenfold increase. The Ante Bet also costs more here (1.5× the stake instead of 1.25×).
Is it the same as Gates of Olympus 1000?
No. Gates of Olympus 1000 is built around a 1,000× bet multiplier and caps at 15,000×. Super Scatter instead introduces the Super Scatter symbol and a much higher 50,000× ceiling. They share the same theme, symbols and base maths but differ in their headline feature and top win.
What devices can I play it on?
It's built in HTML5, so it runs in the browser on desktop, iOS and Android with nothing to download. The demo and real-money versions both work on mobile.

RTP, odds & volatility
What is the RTP of Gates of Olympus Super Scatter?
The default RTP is 96.50%, which is a touch above average for a premium slot. Pragmatic Play also supplies lower configurations of 95.50% and 94.50% that operators can choose, and the figure shifts slightly with certain features: around 96.55% with the Ante Bet active and about 96.49% if you buy Super Free Spins.
How do I know which RTP version I'm playing?
The live RTP is shown in the game's information or paytable screen, and operators are generally required to display it. Always check it before you play and favour a casino running the 96.50% build. That one- to two-point difference compounds over thousands of spins.
What is the volatility?
High — rated 5 out of 5 on Pragmatic Play's own scale. Wins tend to arrive in clusters separated by long dry spells, and most of the theoretical return is locked up in rare bonus events rather than steady payouts.
What is the hit frequency?
About 27.78%, meaning roughly one spin in four returns something. Be aware that most of those wins are small gemstone clusters worth less than your stake. The hit rate looks generous but doesn't reflect profitability.
What is the maximum win?
50,000× your total bet. That's ten times the original Gates of Olympus cap of 5,000× and one of the largest ceilings Pragmatic Play has ever attached to a slot.
What are the odds of hitting the maximum win?
Roughly 1 in 666,666,667 spins on average. It's reached only by landing four Super Scatters while triggering the feature, so treat it as a once-in-a-lifetime, lottery-tier outcome rather than a realistic target.
How often does the bonus trigger?
The free spins round triggers about once every 437 spins on average, less often than many Pragmatic Play titles. You could easily play several hundred spins without seeing it, which is exactly why bankroll discipline matters on this game.
What are realistic big wins, rather than the 50,000× headline?
Because the high ceiling pushes the pay distribution upward, mid-tier wins in the low thousands of times your bet are more achievable than on lower-cap slots, and standout player results often land in the 5,000×–15,000× range. They're still rare and require the features to align. None of it is a reliable expectation.

How it works
How do you win on Gates of Olympus Super Scatter?
There are no paylines. A win is created whenever 8 or more matching symbols land anywhere on the 6×5 grid. This is the scatter-pays or pay-anywhere system. The more matching symbols you land, the bigger the payout.
What is the tumble feature?
After every win, the winning symbols are removed and new ones drop in to fill the gaps. If the new symbols form another win, it pays and tumbles again, so a single spin can chain several wins before it settles.
How do the multiplier orbs work?
Multiplier orbs worth 2× to 500× can land on any spin or tumble, in both the base game and free spins. When a winning sequence finishes, the values of all orbs on screen are added together and the total is applied to that win, which is where the screen-filling payouts come from.
How do the free spins work?
Land 4 or more scatters to start 15 free spins. During the round, every multiplier orb on a winning tumble adds to a running total multiplier that never resets for the whole feature, so it can build into something huge. Landing more scatters during free spins awards additional spins.
What is the Super Scatter symbol?
It's the brand-new symbol that gives the game its name. When at least one Super Scatter lands as part of a feature-triggering combination (4 or more scatters of any type), it pays a fixed instant prize on top of starting the free spins.
How much do Super Scatters pay?
Landing 1, 2, 3 or 4 Super Scatters while triggering the feature pays 100×, 500×, 5,000× or 50,000× your bet respectively. The four-Super-Scatter outcome is the game's 50,000× maximum win.
Is there a wild symbol?
No. Gates of Olympus Super Scatter has no wild symbol. The multiplier orbs and Super Scatter do the heavy lifting instead.
What are the symbols and which pays the most?
There are four high-paying symbols: a crown, a ring, an hourglass and a cup or goblet — with the crown at the top. Five coloured gemstones (red, purple, green, blue, yellow) are the low-pays. On top of those sit the scatter (Zeus's orb) and the new Super Scatter.
What is the grid size?
6 reels by 5 rows (6×5), giving 30 symbol positions, all of which can contribute to a pay-anywhere win.

Betting, Ante Bet & Bonus Buy
What are the minimum and maximum bets?
You can stake from $0.20 up to $240 per spin in standard play, rising to as much as $360 with the Ante Bet active. There are dozens of bet steps in between, so it suits both casual players and high-rollers.
What is the Ante Bet (Double Chance)?
The Ante Bet adds 50% to your stake (1.5× per spin) and roughly doubles how often the free spins trigger, from about 1 in 437 spins to around 1 in 219. It lists a slightly higher RTP of about 96.55%, but it doesn't increase Super Scatter prizes, and it disables Bonus Buy while it's switched on.
Is the Ante Bet worth using?
It's a cost-versus-variance trade, not a way to beat the house. It can suit patient bonus-hunters with a bankroll that absorbs the 50% surcharge, but it's poor value if you're trying to stretch a small budget. See our strategy guide for the full breakdown.
What is Bonus Buy and how much does it cost?
Bonus Buy lets you skip the wait and jump straight into the feature. Free Spins cost 100× your stake, and Super Free Spins cost 500× and guarantee a minimum 10× multiplier on every orb. Buying Super Free Spins lists a slightly lower RTP of around 96.49%.
Should I use Bonus Buy?
Bonus Buy front-loads the variance rather than improving your long-run return. The expected value is broadly similar to base-game play. You'll sometimes win more than you paid and often less, so only buy with money you've already set aside to lose, and know the exact cost before you click.

Playing free & for real money
Can I play the demo for free?
Yes. The demo loads in your browser with play-money credits — no registration, no deposit and no download. It's the recommended way to learn this game's high-volatility rhythm before deciding whether real play is for you.
Can I win real money playing the demo?
No. Demo credits have no cash value and nothing won in demo mode can be withdrawn. Real money is only possible when you play at a licensed casino with real funds.
Where can I play it for real money?
At licensed online casinos that carry Pragmatic Play titles, where the game is legal in your region. This site is an independent guide. We don't host games or take wagers, so always choose a properly regulated operator and check the RTP build it runs.
Is it available in the United States?
Availability is limited. Pragmatic Play is not licensed across most regulated US markets, and the game has been withdrawn from some US-facing sites, though the free demo is often still accessible. Always confirm what's legal and available where you live.

Fairness, strategy & safety
Is Gates of Olympus Super Scatter rigged?
No. Outcomes are produced by a certified random number generator, and licensed versions are independently tested for fairness. Every spin is independent, with no memory of past results, but remember that a fair game still carries a built-in house edge of about 3.5% on the default RTP.
Is there a strategy to win?
No strategy changes the outcome of a spin. What you can control is your money and time: play the highest-RTP version, size your bets so your budget survives the dry spells, set a stop-loss and a win goal, and treat it as entertainment rather than income. Our strategy guide covers this honestly.
What is the best bet size?
No bet size beats the house edge, but on a game this volatile the practical rule is to keep each bet small relative to your budget: roughly your budget divided by the number of spins you want it to last. Aiming for 300 or more spins gives you a realistic chance of reaching the bonus without burning out in minutes.
Is it legal where I live?
Online gambling laws vary widely by country and region, and the game's availability and configuration differ by operator. Nothing here is legal advice. It is your responsibility to confirm that online gambling is legal where you live before playing for real money.
How do I play responsibly or get help?
Set deposit and time limits before you start, only stake what you can afford to lose, and never chase losses. If gambling is becoming a problem, free and confidential help is available 24/7. Our responsible gambling page lists helplines for several countries and the tools that can help you stay in control.
